What are some fun things to do with a beard and mustache?

Asked by RedDeerGuy1 (24886points) April 29th, 2023

Like braiding, twirling, and smooching into your lower lip?

I’m practicing growing my beard and it is getting long enough to play with.

What can I do?
What should I know?

My husband groomed (you have to train it awhile) a Wyatt Earp stache for awhile. Not my thing but he got many compliments.

I had a handlebar mustache, must have been 5 inches across.

Braid it.
Use it to lift 130lb of women, like Antanas Kontrimas.
Grow it really long, like Hans Langseth who had a beard 17 feet and 6 inches long.
Shape a long beard into a faux necktie.
Use it to wipe your brow after a workout or to clean the windscreen on your motorcycle.
The coarse texture of a beard makes it perfect for washing dishes and later while its absorbency makes it fair for drying them
Stroke it while thinking to look smart

Last year I cut it (almost) totally.
While doing so I sported several kinds of styles, for a minute, and photographed them.
So I had, for example, a 70s porn stache.
The ideal opportunity to check which styles would potentially suit you.

Along the same line as @gondwanalon, I have a friend whose young daughters love to decorate daddy’s beard. They use those cute little decorative beads from their “make your own jewelry” kits. If you want something a bit more manly, here are 25 different designs. Personally, I prefer the little girl beads to the viking look; but, YOU are the one wearing it!!!

You could do hair wraps with long beards, probably look pretty nice actually.

Shave it off.

The whole reason I grew it was because I didn’t want to be bothered shaving every day.
Why start doing the fancy things that require upkeep?

Enter it in a contest. Here’s just one example. Google “whiskers contest” or anything else along those lines and you’ll find lots more.

My beard is over a foot long. I sometimes get girls to braid it into two ropes. I actually really like it like that. I pay homage to my viking ancestors…

Update I had my three years old beard and mustache shaved off. Much more comfortable with it off. I also had a hair cut.
