I’ve been watching this crazy television show where celebrities are interviewed while eating hot sauce. It’s amazing because about half way through they become more concerned about the hot sauce that hat they are saying.
Do you use hot sauce?
What Scoville level?

In my younger days I loved hot sauce & it was hard to find one that was hot enough for me. Today, even the mildest kicks in my acid reflux so bad that I can barely breathe. I have watched the show you’re referencing & those people are funny. I think that the cameras needs to follow them everywhere they go. Some end up in the bathroom throwing up their guts. I have NO clue what my Scoville level was back in the day as they didn’t rate it to my knowledge. Only once did I overdo it. I had gone to my fave Chinese restaurant & ordered my fave meal. As usual I asked for extra peppers. Only this time, I challenged the cook to make it so hot that i couldn’t eat it. Well, he did & I was too stubborn to let him know that he got me so I ate it all. I had to pull over on the way home to throw up. After that I still asked for extra peppers, but learned to NOT challenge the cook ever again!!!
No I don’t enjoy having the inside of my mouth feel like it’s on fire.
I love peppers. Unless blending in with other parts of a recipe, I usually top out at enjoying a Habanero or a Savina. That’s about 300000 to 500000 Scoville Units
I sometimes put a few drops of hot sauce into a pot of rice, while it’s cooking, to give the rice a little heat. I may also sometimes mix a few drops into a little barbecue sauce, to give the barbecue sauce a little heat. Other than that, I don’t put it directly on my food.
My grandfather was from Louisiana and he kept the bottle on the table and he would put it on everything – scrambled eggs, you name it. McIlhenny’s brand.
Sure, but as I get older it’s starting to like me less and less. Oh, well.
Yes, I like it, but not too hot. I like Cholula or El Tapatio on eggs; that’s as hot as I can take it and still enjoy.
The one I put in the rice is El Yucateco green.
Yes, I have six different ones, up to Scotch Bonnet about 300,000 Scoville units
I do like it, but I don’t use it a lot. We use salsa more. I assume you are not using the words synonymously.
I don’t have a particular brand that I keep in the house, I keep trying different ones. Years ago I was given a sample of one at a convention that was delicious, and I have no idea the name now or if it even is on the market.
I would usually add it to a meal that has rice or tortillas. With chicken or shredded beef. Not so much with fish or shrimp or even pork.
Absolutely LOVE hot sauce. Crazy hot is fine, if it has flavor. I’m not interested in just chemically burning my mucous membranes.
I prefer something with a great kick, and some sweetness for balance.
Cajun sauces have a special place in my heart.
I love all the different wing flavors nowadays.
I top out at around 450 SHU. Cholula, Franks Red Hot usually. Herdez Avocado hot sauce is my new kick, really nice.
Yes I do. I like Louisiana Hot Sauce and Frank’s Red Hot. However, I do not like Sriracha
^“Frank’s? I put that $hit on everything.”...~
