I bought an air fryer. Now what?
I got it during the Memorial Day sales. It arrived yesterday. I suppose I should take it out of the box.
I think the first thing I want to do is bake a potato.
What do you cook in them?

Chicken is the best in those. Hamburgers and steak are also awesome! Put a frozen hamburger patty with steak sauce atop and chopped up potato, like wedges, spiced up and all, for 20 minutes on 400. Delicious. Best to get a small grate stand to place patties and steaks on for better all around cooking. Had mine a few years now; love it!
Most meats (no breading), french fries or potato slices are really good! Any frozen snacks are great, like pizza pockets, etc…
Get a cook book that deals with air fryers.
We use it for toast and for heating/cooking most frozen items. Roasted veggies have been hit or miss for us, but lightly coat them in some kind of oil if you want to try. Homemade french fries are great. Quick nachos. Beware that if you are not using an air fryer recipe/instructions, you may need to reduce the cooking time.
Quick and easy pork chops:
Spray chamber with non-stick spray.
Turn on unit to 375
Sprinkle chops with italian seasoning, garlic, Montreal seasoning. Add ½ teaspoon of olive oil per chop.
(the olive oil will smoke a bit. Don’t be alarmed)
Cook for 8 minutes.
(My air fryer will get to temperature, then maintain it for about 5 minutes. You will need to repress the cook button to restart. You will know when to do that when you hear the fan turn off)
Taters, taters of all sort.
I don’t have one but I’m intrigued. Let us know how you get on with it.
I made a croissant in my air fryer. It required a bit of effort to create the dough but now when I crave a pastry I add Nutella to store-bought puff pastry and wrap it into a braided shape (if you want to be extra). Then I add egg wash and put it in the air fryer for 8 minutes at 180 degrees.
Simply enjoy it with coffee
@KNOWITALL I consider myself a sweet spud aficionado.
Fry some Air. Lets us know how it goes!
I’m partial to drumsticks or wings in the air flyer. Olive oil spray. Some seasoned salt. Give the basket a good shake mid-fry and you’re golden.
Kids like air fried ravioli. Olive oil spray. Toss them in some bread crumbs with parmesan. Dip in pizza sauce.
Super handy for frozen stuff like tater tots or chicken nuggets.
