Are you aware that today was National Donut Day?

Yes! Yummers! I do a lot of programs with kids as an alter ego that is really just an amplification of my real personality, an over-the-top “man-child” with pineapple patterned clothes and ukulele in hand. Anyway, the ongoing gag is to tell them what day this is. I’m actually excited about tomorrow as it’s National Trail Day, so we’re taking a nature walk in the 92 degrees high humidity day. Sunday is National Pet Your Cat Day, I think, and Monday my 30th wedding anniversary. 30 years, one woman. Married the first girl I dated, she the first man. We’d have it no other way.

Yes I was. But I don’t need to eat stuff like that because I have enough of a problem with losing a few pounds.

Too late to get a freebie, but they aren’t pricey, and why not celebrate them without regard to the calendar.

I saw friends posting on Facebook. I think Dunkin usually runs a promo where if you buy a beverage, you get a free donut. To me, that’s not that great. I have to spend 3 or 4 dollars to get a free dollar donut, isn’t it cheaper to just buy a donut for a dollar? I didn’t go, anyway. I try not to eat donuts although if someone offers me one, it’s hard to resist.
