Elon Musk has decided to flip the bird. Source
The bird avatar on Twitter will go away.
This presents two questions:
What new icon will replace the bird?
Where will the bird find new work?
I have a solution for the first question, but I will write about that later.

Note: When creating this question on a PC, I noticed the Twitter bird appears when you approve the question, with the option to also add this question to my Twitter account.
I wonder if that will change.
Replace the bird with the turd. That’s how Musk signs his tweets.
Honestly, it makes no difference to me. Twitter is dying (thanks to Musk) and the symbol isn’t really going to make a difference.
Swastika, because Musk has deliberately turned it into a haven for nazis.
@elbanditoroso That was my idea as well.
You could rename the site Tooter, and refer to the individual toots as a Deuce.
Elon smoking a big fatty cigar. With his other hand flipping the world the bird .
The bird stood out amongst the Facebook logo, the Instagram camera logo, the Pinterest “P” logo, when you see a bunch of links all in a row. He’s going to have a hard time finding something to match the cuteness of the bird.
If it ain’t broke, don’t break it. Oh wait, Elon broke it.
How odd! I swear I read “what icon does Fluther need?” and I was going to get all indignant.
I just heard earlier that Elons new avatar image, for Twitter, will be a X. Also that It can be in after Monday.
The bird becomes an “X” & twitter.com becomes x.com. I haven’t looked yet today to see if any of this came to pass, but that’s what all my news sources are reporting. The reports also didn’t say if you go to twitter.com if it will auto redirect you to the new site. I do have a twit account but I seldom use it. I’m looking for a new home other than Threads.
UPDATE: Curosity got me. Typed in the twit addy & it took me to the twit page. It’s an ugly “x” but that seems fitting!!!
@LadyMarissa @zenvelo posted the link.
I think the “X” is very cold and bland looking. Just my opinion. Maybe to Musk, it’s great.
^^ Interesting! I don’t care for Musk, but I think the X is rather handsome. Crisp, clean lines, sort of futuristic.
Of course I am movie minded, so X has it’s own definition and place in film.
