What is Elon calling the new messages on X?
As I’ve mentioned before, I had a Twitter account that I only used once maybe twice a year. I popped on earlier this week to see everybody’s reaction to the new name. The whining seems to have calmed down finally. Now, I’m wondering…WHAT are the messages being called currently as sending an X sounds wrong for some reason…nobody seems to know the real answer…do you?

I don’t use Twitter, but I have done some research on the change. Apparently this isn’t the first time Musk tried to put and X on something. He attempted to change PayPal into X but got backlash for that. It seems that this time he succeeded. Musk just has some weird obsession with the letter X for some reason.
And yeah, there have been lots of sex jokes about the X. No one knows how this will turn out.
He changed the bird logo, but since the site is still called Twitter, I haven’t heard of the phrase “tweets” being changed.
@jca2 yes, it isn’t being changed now. But maybe Musk is having something else in mind. He clearly wants to rebrand Twitter, and he has already succeeded in changing the most recognizable logo. Maybe he will gradually change the structure of Twitter itself.
Maybe it’s all just X.
I’ll send you an X.
I’ll X about that subject.
I’ll browse X, reading Xs and Xing Xs.
Did you see what Musk Xed on X? I Re-Xed it to my X followers.
He should have kept it being called Twitter, and made the logo a “T.”
“X-its”?
Once it loses its name recognition, I don’t think it will be long for this world. Musk killed the bird.
The real secret is that he treats them all as kisses to honor him. XX He is not much of a hugger. O
His next move: he wants to rename snails Xcargot.
Thank you @filmfann for the link. I’ve read in a bunch of different places that he was removing “tweet” from the site. Your article verifies that… On Sunday, in the middle of a quiet summer weekend, Elon Musk decreed that Twitter’s product name would be changed to “X,” and that he is getting rid of the bird logo and all the associated words, including “tweet.” I don’t remember which site said it, but I also saw an interview with Musk where he’s planning on changing the site addy to “x.com”. If you go there now, it will redirect you to the twitter site. Since he hasn’t lied about this so far, I can only presume that at some point the X address will become the ONLY working addy & the twitter addy will fade into 404 oblivion!!! Still, I’ve found NOTHING with the new name that replaces “tweet” & I was hoping that one of our jellies has seen something I haven’t. Since Meta & Microsoft also use this same X logo, NONE of this makes sense to me!!!
@Zaku You might be right, but none of that seems to flow at this point & I’m truly hoping he’s had a better idea about something!!!
he wants to rename snails Xcargot. HA!!!
