Why do some Jellies constantly bang heads on Fluther?

Is it because they feel so good when they stop? Or do they get so little mental stimulation elsewhere in their lives? Or think anyone’s mind will be changed?
This is not aimed at anyone in particular, it has happened in the past as well as now, but I wonder at those who persist in arguing a point ad nauseum which is generally not accepted by the collective.

Good question. My thoughts are that they just want to be correct and for people to say, yes! I see your point! I’m now on your side. Which will never happen.
I’m an Aries. Can’t help it. It’s a ram thing.
Perhaps they aren’t here to be persuaded to opinions, and like me, prefer to debate facts. In many cases, the opinion of the collective has no bearing whatsover to me. :)
I would say that some people haven’t mastered the art of letting go, and are compelled to respond.
Also they are living vicariously through Fluther debate of news and current events, instead of actually running for office.
Because other people are stupid poo poo heads and I need to show them the error or their ways.
Some folks just like to debate, fight, and argue. Relative-anonymity emboldens people even more to be confrontational and contrarian. Plus, Jellies here in the lagoon are a kind of family, and families fight.
@cookieman Now I get it. You’re my weird uncle with Tourette’s syndrome!
It is the behaviour of people whose personalities haven’t fully developed and like children they assert their identity by stamping their feet and saying no.
I disagree with all of you and I hate you too.
I think there are a bunch of reasons, and there may be several reasons for each “head banger” on here and elsewhere on other sites (like Facebook or other social media sites). Some have been mentioned above. I think Fluther has a bunch of intelligent people and some may have strong personalities. Sometimes it may be “keyboard warriors.” I think it’s all well and good until people start calling names like on the elementary school playground, offensive names like “idiot” and “fools.”
For some, it’s part of the entertainment.
@Dutchess_III May I tempt you with some McDonald’s? Hate is so yesterday.
You mean I’m just supposed to allow someone to be wrong on the internet?
I think it’s because, when we feel strongly, it’s difficult to just let an argument go and not try to be the one with the last word. There is an inclination to feel like the person still in the debate must be the one who has the truth of the matter, and for issues we feel strongly about, that often does not feel acceptable for our own pride and/or the betterment of the world.
