Are you surprised that Putin found a way to kill Prigozhin?
news story
I’m not surprised – only that it took this long after the abortive revolutionary moves a few weeks ago.
Moral of the story: Putin is a vindictive SOB.

I am surprised it took that long.
Hopefully any would-be putschist learns his lesson:
Once you start, you commit. You do not get to backtrack and live.
Wow! I’ve been at work all morning and I hadn’t even heard this news until I saw your question. But now, I’m not surprised. He should have finished the job.
Color me surprised. ~
Putin remains unchecked.
Wow, no shame in his game. Wonder if the other 9 passengers pissed him off too.
Collateral damage, and probably unimportant.
@elbanditoroso Yes three were crew but i can’t find the rest. Plus only 8 bodies of 10 were actually found. Hmmm…
No surprise here. I’ve been waiting for something like this to happen.
Nah, It wasn’t Putin because Prigozhin didn’t fall out of a window.
Putin couldn’t get in a 15 story building with an open window.
So . . . . . . . missile into a jet will work
Well, Prigozhin fell with the window…
I’m surprised that Prigozhin was that outrageously dumb exposing himself to assassination after that Wagner attack in Russia.
Nyet. There is an old Russian saying: “Revenge is a dish best served cold.”
Just surprised about the method.
Nope. Just surprised it took him this long. @KNOWITALL Two of the men were like his top lieutenants. So good. What surprised me was how Prigozhin thought he could fly into Russia and not be assassinated. Unless it was all fake by Prigozhin so he could escape with his money without fear of Putin coming after him. Set up some patsy to pose as him and his 2 lieutenants.
@Pandora Putin let him feel safe a few months then took his revenge. Even Biden said he was not surprised. Prigozhin knew what would happen.
Man, I’m waiting for the history books to be written on these days. Like what was the idea behind the putsch that got us here? Were there betrayals, or just faint hope of a rally that didn’t happen? Why didn’t they go to Moscow? What was the Belarus deal, actually? What does it take to convince a man to back down from a position of power, and accept his own inevitable murder? Is the fucker actually dead? But no, I was not in the least bit surprised, nor would I be at any news coming out of Russia right now.
Not surprised in the least.
Although there are a great many people in this world who are in senior political positions or even leaders who are totally evil I consider Putin the most evil of them all.
Putin cares nothing whatsoever about his country, any other country or people of this world including his own.
He is prepared to send 100s of 1000s of his countrymen to their deaths in the Ukraine. Even let extremely dangerous criminals out of prison to fight in the Ukraine. How long will it be before he mobilises 12 year olds and 70 year olds, pushes a weapon in their hands and sends them to their deaths. He is very quickly running out of soldiers and young people. He is already sending students to the Ukraine.
Many intelligent Russians military who have been forced to fight are surrendering. Only today a helicopter Mi-8 flew to Ukraine and surrender to the Ukrainian military.
It has been said that Putin has survived about 7 attempts on his life. If this is the case those who have tried are not very good.
He obviously felt humiliated when Yevgeny Yevgeny Prigozhin became involved in a mutiny against Putin and Putin was desperate to ensure Prigozhin paid for it.
The proof that Putin cares nothing for anyone is in the fact that I hope it will be found that he ordered the planes shot down.
The problem with that is that the plane crashed on Russian soil so the reason for the crash is unlikely to ever come out.
@Poseidon Prihozhin got beserkers out of the Russian jails to go to Ukraine for Putin. They’d known eachother for around 30 years. I think when Prigozhin turnedxon Putin he knew when he did it that he’d die. In a way, he committed suicide simply by turning on Putin. So from Putins pov, he deserved it, I’m sure.
A 30 year friend of mine stabs me in the back publicly, I would likely feel the same. Just playing Devils Advocate.
As far as I can tell, these are tragic deaths in a very unfortunate aviation accident.
@Kropotkin – it’s a well documented aviation hazard. Sometimes planes just explode over Russian held territory. Must be the same localized atmospheric conditions that cause those unfortunate slip and falls out of windows.
@Smashley Putin’s detractors are just very unfortunate/clumsy people.
@Kropotkin Yea, for a while they could not stop drinking tea laced with Polonium. And they do silly things like blow their noses with hankies laced with nerve gas.
