Is being lawfully imprisoned the adults equivalent to a young child being grounded?

Asked by RedDeerGuy1 (24986points) August 30th, 2023

When one turns 18 one could be mistaken for being free from parents, to now having the authorities replace that?

Is that why people want to own an isolated Island? To be free to do whatever one wants?

Humor welcome.

If by being “grounded” you mean being a child of Josef Fritzl, then yes.

Sort of, but not really. If a child spreads poop on the bathroom walls, they get grounded. If they do it as an adult in their own home, they just lose friends that are willing to come over. Now if they spread poop on someone else’s bathroom and that person calls the police they could be dinged with breaking a vandalism law. And they’d still lose friends.

I am in the process of buying a small isolated island off the Maine coast. Not sure I can do whatever I want but nobody will know. Aside from Wilson.

I can’t imagine how you could compare the two, assuming you have some idea of what prison is like.

No, not even close.

@Forever_Free Is Wilson the Judgmental Edition? If not, you’re probably safe.
