Some examples:
They grin to appease each other. They kiss and hug their kids a lot, and for years. They’re often aggressive to strangers, they use tools, they dance together. They have sex for enjoyment and social cohesion and they pass knowledge down for generations (such as the practice of “washing” certain food in sea water for seasoning). They have meltdowns when they’re frustrated or lose at games. There are rules to their language, and the apes that were taught a human form of sign language use basic grammar. They flirt by staring and very obviously eating a little snack.
And it’s @longgone for the win! Thank you.
It just fascinates me to watch them interact with each other, to see their body language and recognize it.
