Do you send out Christmas cards that include the names of your pets along with your family?
I heard a young lady a few days back who was stressing over ordering her Christmas cards ASAP. She was trying to decide which pic to use & how they should be signed off & in what order. She wanted to make sure that both their dogs & all 3 cats were included with the rest of the family. That made me go hmm. Now I’m wondering if this has become a “thing”. So, I’m wondering, do you include your pets as family on your Christmas cards?

I’m currently without a pet, but if I had one, I would definitely sign from him/her also. In fact, I’ve seen actual paw prints on cards. I think it’s adorable; after all they are part of your family.
Same here. I’m currently without, but when I do have a pet, they are my family so they are included on all cards.
My friends who do photo cards often put their pets’ photos on the cards, and/or sign the pets’ names on the signature line.
I’m afraid I never subscribed to the ideals sending out Christmas cards en masse. At my job, I receive I don’t know how many were people have just signed their name, and though I appreciate them, I don’t generally keep them because they would clutter up my home. However, if somebody has taken the time to write a thoughtful note, those are the ones I save. But I just don’t have the energy to send 50 cards out or whatever and because of what I’m like, I would feel like I had to write a personalized note in each one.
I don’t, but I’m related to at least one person who makes their own holiday cards based on photos of their pets. Yes, including their names. I don’t think all pets are necessarily always involved each year.
I don’t have pets and I don’t send many Christmas cards, but I think it’s fine to sign the pet names when sending to friends. When sending to work colleagues I might not.
I send very few cards, and I add the dog’s name if the card is going to someone who appreciates that particular whimsy. Otherwise, no.
I send Christmas cards with personal hand-written notes. That whole picture cards with the pets thing is meaningless to me. It is also devoid of class.
@LadyMarissa What’s wrong with you, distinguishing animals from family? Animals ARE family! Of course I’ve always put my four-legged (sometimes three-legged) family members’ names on every holiday card.
Suddenly, after all these years, it’s as if I don’t even KNOW you…(sigh).
I’m just pleased to know that some people are still mailing Christmas cards.
When we had pets, we did.
They really are members of the family.
Christmas card, Birthday Cards, etc…..
They are part of the family.
Of course they are part of the family.
^^ And that’s the difference between many of us vs. other people who view pets as an addition to the house like furniture and other items they can easily get rid of or trade in for a new one. It sickens me the way some people will take their pet to the humane society when they get older and begin to have health issues which cost the owners more money, or because the puppy up for sale is sooo cute, or they want the latest hybrid as if it’s a fashion statement.
<sigh> I could go on for hours, but I know I’m preaching to the choir. <hugs to all>
