When you don't want to do something, do you tend to procrastinate or do you tackle the project or the issue head on, right away?

How do you handle things you don’t necessarily want to do?

Do you procrastinate or do you tackle things head on, to get them out of the way?

I call a friend or loved one for help motivating me.

I am a champion procrastinator. I am the Simone Biles, Michael Phelps, Usain Bolt of the sport of Putting Things Off.
That said, if it’s necessary, I get it done in a (barely) timely fashion, and I do it pretty well, but ugh.

Any task can be split into sub-tasks – this is true for stuff at work, for gardening, for construction.

I always start with the easy parts first, which (psychologically) is setting me up for the difficult stuff later.

So it’s sort of controlled or planned procrastination.

There is not a straightforward answer
It varies based on importance and complexity. What I have on my plate currently may also play into it.
Research may also be needed prior to starting. I however consider research part of getting it done.

Yes and yes. Some things that I need to get done I just jump in to get them done. Others I let sit. I can’t seem to find any aspects of the tasks that drive it one way or the other. Things that HAVE to be done, of course, get done but after that it seems to be a crap shoot with me.

Usually, I procrastinate if it will take a while to complete it. If I can get it done in a minute I often just do it like ripping off a bandaid.

I plan out how I want to fix it.
I don’t proceed until I feel inspired.
