Apparently, he drowned. I find this very sad.

I saw that head line. I am hoping it is not true. He worked hard at getting sober. This makes me really sad.
It’s just horrible news. A golden child lost.
I just saw that.
My view is that he practically died from drug misuse a couple of years ago, so he was living on borrowed time.
Still, sad.
I heard. It’s just awful. So young, but not very unusual for someone to have a heart attack in their 50’s.
Two days ago I was at resort in Disney and my husband and I wanted to go to the hot tub. We get there and the hot tub is PACKED with people. We counted 28, limit for the tub is 22. It looked like some were drinking too. We waited and people were not getting out. I said to him, it is a cardiac risk to be in there so long.
My husband just told me Matthew Perry died of cardiac arrest in a hot tub. I realize Matthew could have had cardiac arrest without being in the hot tub, we don’t know if the hot tub was a contributing factor, but I’m just saying don’t stay in too long, and don’t ever go in a hot tub alone, and don’t do drugs or drink alcohol when you use a hot tub. The 15 minute limit posted on almost every public hot tub I have been to is not just so other people can get in, it is a health risk. A very close friend of ours died years ago, 32 years old. He had a little alcohol in his system. The coroner determined he passed out and drowned.
I’m so sorry to hear this. I’m glad he was able to enjoy some sober years and see what life was like without artificial highs. It’s not all unicorns and butterflies, but there aren’t the extremely deep, painful, lonely lows, either. Such a handsome guy.
I met him a long time ago when he was filming a movie near a relative I was visiting. She (my relative) lives in a gated communitiy of mansions and he was a few mansions over, and we walked over and met him and he signed an autograph. He was very nice to me.
Very sad news.
That makes me so sad. I hope his loved ones find peace in all the video material of his youth, rather than it hindering their healing. I always think that must be so difficult for family of actors to navigate. I feel like you’d want to watch him as a young person forever.
Rest in Peace to the most hilarious. He gave us the most beautiful voice inflections a person could have.
Could we be any more proud?
Sad when people die so young.
I never watched “Friends” and never heard of him.
So sad and only 54. I wasn’t much of a fan of Friends but I loved him in The Whole Nine Yards with Bruce Willis.

How did he die? I don’t know who that is but 54 is too young.
I was never a “Friends” fan but I have watched a few episodes. I was taken aback to hear this news and I still can’t quite believe it.
@SnipSnip He was found drowned in a hot tub at his house. Cause of death has not been determined.
It’s so very sad. I really liked him and felt bad about his struggles with addiction. Known for Friends, but I really loved him in Fools Rush In and Studio 60.
He was an interesting guy. I’ve learned more about him since he died than in all the years before. I didn’t know he had written a play.
He also founded a house to help people who had addiction problems which I did not know either.
Today I learned that his stepfather is Keith Morrison, the host and voice of the true crime show “Dateline.”
^I love him! He has the best voice.
I had heard it & it is truly sad. Today they are saying it wasn’t a normal drowning & not a homicide so there will be more investigation into what actually happened.
As somebody who enjoyed the TV series and of the same age as Chandler…this is depressingly sad.
