I was remembering popcorn balls yesterday. I loved those as a kid, and I think I’m going to try to make some at some point in the coming months. I don’t need a reason. I’m just going to try it.

@RedDeerGuy1 was the king size Rum a whole fifth of rum?
Did the butter melt by the time you got home?

@Forever_Free It was a king sized chocolate bar. I don’t know any more other than it made me I’ll for a couple of hours.

In the 1950s – - – first a one pound chocolate bar, second was a caramel covered apple and third huge popcorn ball.

We do not do that here.

@ragingloli Oh, I didn’t know. Germany has some good scary children’s fables.

Please share some with us?

Caramel covered apple or a candy apple and popcorn ball.

You get beaten with sticks by Knecht Ruprecht if you have been bad that year.

@ragingloli Thanks for sharing. In Canada we had the boogie man, who would get us at night from the closet.

My family would threaten that If we misbehaved and didn’t get post secondary education that we would never amount to more than to be a McDonald’s restaurants manager.

I told them that It’s a real job,and I would love to have my own restaurant one day. That’s around the time that I disconnected from most of my family . (Except mom and one sister , they rock)

Full-sized chocolate bars.

Oh no wait, I think some people had home-made brownies and cookies!

But the adventure and exploration with friends in costumes, was the best part.

A chocolate Tootsie Pop. I loved those and never had them. The little store sold them at the counter but there was never a chocolate one in the box. Halloween was my big chance and often I did get one. AND, I certainly would not trade it for my sister’s whole bag.
