The Nuns made me do it as a kid!!!
Those little foldable boxes filled with pennies.
I know Canada dropped out of doing it back in the early 2000’s. I haven’t had a kid ask about it in over 25 years. UNICEF says, so I think the program is still alive; however, I’m guessing that there is very little participation. Hell, kids won’t watch TV now if the remote is missing & they need to walk over to the TV to change it, so I don’t think any willing to go out walking from door to door. I seem to remember parents worrying about their kids getting robbed while out collecting. I’‘m guessing that most is done online now.
I did it when I was little (1970s). My guess is that pennies are now not worth what they were in the 70s, so it’s a lot of effort for a small return.
Yeah, I think you’re all right…I was just thinking about it.
