Is it just me or does it seem like Mac and Cheese is kid food?

It always throws me when people actually serve Mac and Cheese as one of the side dishes at dinner. To my mind, Mac and Cheese is just a quick lunch meal for kids.
I like it. I’ll eat it, but only bites I steal from the kid’s lunch!
Why do I feel this way?
