Yeah a wee bit more detail would help us to help you. What model iphone, which firmware and whether you’re jailbroken or not would be a good place to start. Then when is it slow exactly.

I have the first gen Iphone 16MB, jail broken, running 2.0
When start a an application, like camera app, it takes 12 seconds for the view finder to show up.

hmm. I reckon the only thing to do here mate is to go ahead and upgrade to 2.1 and break it again. Sorry, I wish there was an easier answer.
