Are you watching the service for Rosalynn Carter?

Asked by JLeslie (65791points) November 28th, 2023 from iPhone

Tearjerker for me. I love the Carters. They to me are a shining light of goodness.

Her grandson Jason was great, the eulogy he delivered was funny and familial. I loved his stories of his grandmother.

A journalist who spoke at the service kind of dissed Trump with Melania there in attendance.

If you watched, what did you think?

And I said, “God, please answer me one question…
Why’d they have to interrupt The Simpsons just for this?”
What a drag, ‘cause I was taping it and everything
And now I’ll have to wait for the rerun to see the part of the show I missed

I didn’t know it was on, but tbh, I wouldn’t have watched it. I’ve never watched the funeral of any famous person – or a wedding either.

This isn’t the one to watch. Although a good person, she had no official position.

The funeral and ceremonies to watch will be Jimmy Carter’s – which, sadly, will be coming fairly soon. He’s getting way up in years and with Rosalynn gone, doesn’t have much to live for.

@elbanditoroso I think you would really appreciate her service. You can fast forward through the choir singing and it won’t take very long. She did many great things. Start at minute 33:00. https://www.youtube.com/live/nGk5d2xBqA0?si=Ph31Z6OAExZBA2C3

I watched. She was an amazing, inspirational woman.

Living in GA, I did watch it so I could know firsthand what occurred. It was easier than going to the actual service & not knowing if I would even be allowed to attend. I also had a more complete view of what was happening than if I was in the back. She was a good woman who held tight to her beliefs & who loved her husband & country dearly. It’s sad to lose her, but she had lived a long good life!!! Many should aspire to be more like her.
