Did you know that turkey, squash, pumpkins, cranberries, tomatoes, corn and potatoes are native to the Americas?
Your Thanksgiving meal probably was not reflective of the original meal of the Pilgrims, which was dominated by venison and shellfish, but a lot of what is currently served did originate in the New World. If you used peppers, that can also be added to the list.

The only important ones are tomatoes and potatoes. You can keep the rest.
@JLeslie , According to your link, greenbeans also originated in the Americas. I did not know that.
@ragingloli, What if we throw in chocolate, vanilla, pecans and peanuts?
Ah, green bean casserole. Thanks for this Q.
Tomatoes is the one that surprised me.
@JLeslie
I will accept the chocolate. There are enough other nuts, like Deez Nuts (Ha, got’em!), and vanilla is, well, vanilla.
I think cheesecake was first made by the Greeks or Romans, not Americans.
Cheesecake does not fit in with Thanksgiving. Christmas maybe, but not Thanksgiving.
Since “thanksgiving” is just a glorified harvest festival, which are common throughout the world, a cake absolutely fits.
Usually, Thanksgiving is associated with pies not cakes.
You do understand Cheesecakes are really a pie (custard with cream cheese) . . .
@janbb A deli I use to frequent, 40 years ago, in West Palm Beach while on business trips. They made ” Killer Cake ” No flour and four kinds of chocolate.
