I don’t know.
Some Christians believe that God has a plan for everyone. I grew up in an evangelical family and community (I opted out in my teens), and I did not hear people saying that. It was never part of what I was taught. People did talk about God’s will, but that’s a little different.
Hitler also survived numerous attempted assassinations, although nowhere near 600. I would guess that the same answer would apply to both.
I think everyone, including the most staunch Christians ask that same question about Hitler, child abusers, serial killers and trump. I don’t understand either.
He was protected by Cuban citizens and Russia.
Perhaps they think Castro was being protected by the devil.
I think he probably had good bodyguards and he was a lucky SOB.
But communists specifically disclaim god (or they used to) in favor of the power of the socialist state.
So it would be odd to attribute Fidel’s longevity to a concept that they specifically disclaimed.
Theists might believe that. I don’t know about Christians.
Oh, Loli, don’t you know by now that God’s protection is limited to White Anglo-Saxon Protestants?
It’s questions like this that led me away from believing. With a little help from Caravanfan, long time ago.
More likely the corrupt CIA who bungled over 600 attempts.
