What was the highest price for an international letter to be delivered?

In Canada, you can get a postcard delivered to France for $1.

What would it cost ~100 or more years ago?

Letter or Fedex or ??

A couple years ago, I had to send a Fedex – next day air – to Israel. It was some legal papers.

Next day service was $57.00 for a flat Fedex envelope.
