Does anyone have a high paying career that they don't hate?

Asked by RedDeerGuy1 (24999points) January 21st, 2024

Like accounting?

My dad said that it was fun to be able to look through a company’s finances? Also that he was third from the top.

Do you like your job? Or are you compensated with extra cash?

I liked loading coolers in a conveniece store. That was fun, and great way to beat the heat of summer. I was paid higher than minimum wage at the time.
Sweeping and mopping floors was fun.
Running the cashier was usually fun.

Edit high paying as more than $25,000 a year or $26 a hour. Doesn’t have to be full time.

My husband recently retired at age 72 from a six figure salaried job he loved as senior computer programmer. He worked 35 years at the same company.

! am looking to retire this spring. I have worked at the same place for 44 years as of this coming Sunday. Over dinner Saturday, I was talking about stuff at work, and my girlfriend remarked, “you still like all that stuff!”.

My job has kept me pretty comfortable the last 30 years, but pay isn’t what makes it enjoyable..

I was a lab tech and made around 28,000/yr 30 years ago. Loved my job.

$25,000 isn’t much. The highest poverty income is $14,000. On the other hand, $26/hour would equal 54,000.
