Would you be interested in going on a cruise with around 10K people?
Royal Caribbean has created the Icon of the Seas which is a cruise ship that can carry around 10K passengers. I thought that the purpose of a cruise was to get away from people & relax. This sounds to me like jumping out of the frying pan into the fire.
Would you be interested in joining 10K people on a cruise or would you prefer a smaller, more intimate cruise?

No. We are already on a cruise with 9 billion people, and that is enough for me. I prefer a staycation. With lots of takeout. Maybe a bucket of KFC or two racks of pork ribs.
Yes, this does sound like much more hell. A cruise is a cruise, though many of the horriblenesses would be multiplied with larger concentrations of people,
I much prefer a smaller ship, but yes I would be willing to go if it was the right ports and price.
Only if I get to ram an iceberg and kill everyone on board.
Not at all. I don’t get the appeal. Obviously 10s of 1000s of people disagree with me, but I don’t get it.
Though I would clean toilets to get on the crew of a scientific expedition to Antarctica or a search for historic shipwrecks.
It sounds horrific to me. And so wasteful.
It seems to me it would be like checking into a hotel with 10000 guests for a convention of tourists.
Only if 5K are MAGA fanatics and 5K are liberal Democrats.
I don’t want to live in a town with that many people!
I know a lot of people go on cruises and say they’re awesome.
I have a good friend who came home from a trip with a serious case of Norovirus. It didn’t seem too appealing.
I don’t think a cruise would be my preferred mode of travel.
I don’t mind cruises if there is a theme to them. I have gone on two music cruises and loved them, but Caravan was playing and you all know how I feel about Caravan. I prefer more intimate forms of travel, though.
I’ll pass. These “floating Disneyland” cruises don’t appeal to me. A trip on a pleasure yacht is more my style. ;)
The best cruise I’ve been on had about 3k passengers.
The Covid cruise had about 2k.
I can’t imagine being on a ship of 10k. That’s just crazy.
….are you expected to hang out with all 10,000? I just don’t see how it would be different than living in a small town. Just more to do and better food.
Keep to yourself if you prefer, and relax.
I am not a fan of cruise ships.
Yet I will be out on the bay in a sailboat or Boston Whaler every day of the week if I can.
@tedibear I was going to say the same thing. I live in an unincorporated area and it’s very nice. More nice is the family vacation home in a little town of 2100. :)
