Is nasal saline spray irritating for you?

I just tried it for the first time and I found it irritating.

I just got through covid. I actually took Paxlovid (the lower dose) for two days and my sinuses and nose felt clearer than EVER. It was a bizarre unexpected feeling. I had to stop the meds and my congestion and fever back.

Now, I’m better, and tested negative, but still feel a little congested. More like I think the nasal passages might be irritated a little. I tried the saline, trying to avoid medication like Afrin, and I found it irritating in my nose and causing a mild headache, so I wondered the experience of others.
