Have you ever used Mint Mobile?
Mint Mobile is really pushing their services in my area. I’m currently using T-Mobile & Mint is renting T-Mobile’s towers so I’d still be using the same network & at the same time saving about 66% off my monthly bill. I did something similar with Sprint & Boost years ago & I was sure glad I did! I can’t seem to find anybody who has tested the waters with them, so I’m checking here. If you’ve used Mint, what was your experiences?

I’ve had it for two years now and I have never had a problem.
Mint Mobile was bought by TMobile a year or so ago. The question I would ask is: Is TMobile going to continue supporting Mint, or will they fold you into TMobile and make you change plans and rates?
@tinyfaery THANKS…that’s what I wanted to know!!!
@elbanditoroso You made an excellent point!!! I doubt that T-Mobile would announce any plans like that in advance. My ONLY experience was with the Sprint/Boost partnership. Sprint just bought Boost & ran it as a separate company & Boost rented their towers. I had to close my Sprint account to open my Boost account. I received the same nationwide coverage that I had with Sprint. I preferred the prepaid Boost account to the postpaid Sprint account. Sprint offered NO support for my Boost account. At that point, Boost had NO stores & I called customer service & they told me what to do to fix any problem that I had. I bought my own phone & NEVER had a contract that upped my rates for 11 years. I saw NO difference in the quality of my cell service than when I had Sprint. Only difference then was that I knew several people with Boost & were happy with their service.
I’ve been doing my research on the company & their plans. The only thing I was missing in my research was knowing somebody with personal experience with the company.
I only know that Ryan Reynolds does funny advertisments for them
This angle has been around forever. I think it has to do with a legal requirement that tower owners make them available to rent by other carriers. I’ve been using the same service, never cracking 15 bucks a month, since 2010. I would never use Mint because Ryan Reynolds disgusts me.
@Smashley Really? No accounting for taste, I don’t feel that way at
all.
@YARNLADY – No, there really are a lot of workable, quite cheap, phone plans out there, and have been for years. You can choose whichever you want, whatever your taste. Mint is just the one who realized a celebrity part owner cuts your marketing budget significantly, and billionaired him for his contribution to their market share. Celebrities disgust me in general, but what’s coming is going to be truly nauseating.
@Smashley HOW have you cracked the $15/mo without using Mint??? My interest in Mint has absolutely NOTHING to do with Ryan Reynolds!!! He may be cute; but at my age, it takes MORE than cute to woo me!!! It’s the $15/mo that I’m interested in obtaining!!!
@LadyMarissa – you just bring your own phone and adjust your expectations. No ones getting unlimited 5g at that price, yet, but there are workable plans. For myself, I typically loaded up on cheap minutes and data on trac, and spent them out the rest of the year. I was averaging about 10 bucks a month for years.
It is possible mint has the cheapest plan with unlimited talk and text, but I would gladly pay more to not give it to Ryan.
