Were you affected by the nationwide cell phone service outage that occurred on Thursday, February 22nd, 2024?

It is still being investigated by the FBI, who, last I heard, are still not sure if it was hacked or what.

I have Cricket Wireless, and I could receive and send texts and use Waze but could not make calls, for the majority of the day. By last night, all was well.

I was thinking we’d hear stories about people who needed to call 911 and couldn’t, but I haven’t yet heard of anything like that. I’m sure they’re out there.

My cell service is with Verizon, so I was not affected at all.

I heard that calling through wifi connections was fine, so the disruption was not as bad as it might have been.

I heard on the news last night there was indeed a 911 call that didn’t get thru and someone suggested to go look for a neighbor using another service and also a neighbor who might still have a landline.

I still have a landline although I don’t know if it’s technically considered a true landline, since it’s not hooked up through a landline but through the cable box. I’m glad I have it. I think it’s only 20 dollars a month.

No but my wife received an email from an associate that also works remotely at 5 PM, the associate was offline with her cellphone (so could not call). She needed my wife to answer a technical question.

Apparently the outage caused by a software update,

No effect here. Only impact on me, was I had to look at a cartoon about it, and wonder what it was referring to. I am learning my first info about it from you asking this question.

I don’t know, but might explain why I couldn’t log onto Yahoo.
