It would definitely depend on the type of chopper.
@SQUEEKY2 Ok. How about a traffic news chopper?
I’ve NEVER been in a chopper; but, they DON’T look comfortable even in decent weather!!!
@RedDeerGuy1 there would be ones that have both a heater, and a air conditioner , the small ones like you see on Mash that have no doors would suck in bad weather.
I was in a Bell 47 helicopter when i was 10, my friend’s dad was a pilot for Bell. On a Saturday morning I went to my friend’s house. His dad asked if I wanted to go to the airport, I said yes . . told my mom I was going to go to airport and would be back later in the day. Tommy’s dad paid for lunch; at Bell the three of us took off and flew for almost and hour.
I never told my mom.
Los Angeles in late spring temp was not a problem.
That must have been the time of your life so cool.^^
I’ve never been in a helicopter. I’ve always wanted to. A helicopter over the Grand Canyon or something like that would be so exciting.
Rode in a helicopter in Hawaii 30 years, we booked for the 30 minute tour, we checked in and the person said, “You signed up for 30 minute tour?” Our answer yes – -the other couple signed for 55 minute tour.
They didn’t throw us out after 30 minutes !
When I was about 12 my dad and I rode in one of those without doors. I sat in the middle and was scared to death that Dad would fall out when we turned and tilted over! But it was fun, for sure.
I have always wanted to ride in a helicopter, but have never had the opportunity. Some day it would be fun.
The temp is the least important aspect of comfort when I am not on the ground. I do not remember being either cool or warm when I was in a copter.
