Because we Finnish are just the most awesomest people in the world.
I thought Bhutan was the happiest country! But the one thing I do know about Finland is that kids start school at 7 (if that’s true still) and that they are given no homework ever because it’s considered that kids need time to play. Happy children make for happy families. I suspect there is also social support like universal healthcare, etc.
Have you ever seen a typical citizen! I’d be pretty happy, too, if I looked in the mirror and saw that!
My kids had classmates from Finland in their elementary school class. Every person in that family was gorgeous. Blond, fit, and nice.
@janbb I don’t believe in homework either for kids either. It must be because I’m Finnish.
@LuckyGuy I’m gorgeous, blond, fit, and nice. Oh, no wait…
@LadyMarissa Well, sorta. My hair is white. So that’s kind of blond.
Here’s a fun Finnish fact. Finland did their best to protect their Jews from the Nazis. They evacuated many to Sweden. A few were extradited under protest.
Here’s another fun Finnish fact. They have their own version of baseball and it is frikking crazy to watch called Pesapallo
@Caravanfan People with white hair still have options…blond, brown, black, blue, red. green, etc!!!
@LadyMarissa I’m too cheap to color my hair. Besides my white hair fools everybody into thinking that I am distinguished.
Apparently, thinking about Finland makes @Caravanfan happy!
I think they have no, or at most very few Brians.
Was it Finland who saved their oil money? I believe that they live off of the interest of $280 billion USA dollars?
@Caravanfan Hoo boy! That looks like Ingmar Bergman mixed with Sam Peckinpah!
@janbb I frikking loved that movie. My daughter texted me. “Dad. Go see Sisu. Don’t take Mom”.
Sorry. I looked it up. Finland is not in the top ten for richest countries. My mistake.
It is far enough away from the insanity that is everywhere else.
@flutherother It’s right next door to Russia, so that’s not true.
@Caravanfan As long as the door is firmly closed and bolted.
@flutherother It is now. Border is mostly closed since the Russian invasion of Ukraine,.
