There are a few states that are putting the abortion issue on the voting ballot, think that will be a good thing?

I think it’s great, weather for or against let the voters see this come November .
What’s your opinion?

Depends on what state you’re in.

@SQUEEKY2 Where do you live? Do you realize just how many Christian fundamentalists live in the south?

SQUEEKY2's avatar

Why does that matter?
if they are for it then vote that way if against then vote that way as well,if it is on all the ballots will it help the Rep/cons come November,or will it hurt them?

So far voters have voted to keep abortion legal. I heard it will be on my ballot in Florida, I’m not sure if that is correct. Florida does sometimes vote for Republican candidates and liberal policy so I think Florida will vote to keep abortion legal as long as the ballot item is written reasonably.

States should keep putting it on the ballot until there is a federal law protecting safe abortion availability.

I think it is exactly the way it should be.

It is the right thing.

Because a majority of Americans of both parties favor abortion, having state votes will increase the availability of abortion, which is a good thing.

I live in the South & have for most of the last 74 years. I can assure you that most Christian fundamentalists don’t believe in abortion for you, but DO believe in it when it’s for themselves!!! If they don’t have to say it out loud, they will vote for it because it might benefit them in the future. If they have to say it in public; dayum it, they are against it because it’s a sin!!!

States that are banning abortion are largely doing so through “trigger laws”. When the people of the state are able to vote on the issue, as was done in Kansas and albeit indirectly on Ohio, the result is keeping abortion legal. Allowing a state vote on abortion is bad for those who want to see abortion banned or nearly banned, but probably good for anyone else.
