Do you have any ideas for a 70th birthday party?

My wife turns 70 next month. We are talking about renting a hotel venue. Catered food.
Then what?

Inviting anyone she’d like to see.
And then, doing whatever she might want to do. Especially anything she wouldn’t/hasn’t normally done for herself, for whatever reasons. I’d have to ask her what those things might be.
We had an Elvis impersonator for her 40th birthday. She has asked us not to do that again.
If she likes to dance, you can have a DJ or if you want to keep costs down, you can use a playlist and hook it up to the hotel’s speakers and do some dancing.
Why not a 1970’s theme? Only if she’d enjoy it, of course.
Hmm. Oiled up male stripper?
Ok this is just a joke. In the
spirit of fun. Sleazy fun. Orgy?
Dang it. Just read the post above mine. Oiled??? As if there’s another kind!
If you have it at a venue in Napa Valley or Sonoma, how about you and she stay over at an inn and go for a hot air balloon ride the next morning? I did that in NJ with my Ex for his 40th.
Remember my wife is deaf, so dancing wouldn’t be important to her.
I like the balloon ride idea, but that might not be manageable with 30+ guests
@filmfann that’s why I said just the two of you stay over somewhere and do the balloon ride the next day.
Does she have a favorite color? A friend of mine had a pink party. Everyone wear anything pink, no need for it to be your whole outfit, could be a shirt, scarf, dress, hat, anything. Men participated, it was fun. I gifted her a pink mug that I made. You could do any color. It’s different than a white party, which everyone is expected to wear all white. My niece did that and then she wore black so she stood out.
Does she like candy? Have a board that you write out something with candy bars glued to the board. Like this, but you make it yourself with your own sentiment. https://www.etsy.com/listing/1198103643/70th-birthday-printable-candy-poster?gpla=1&gao=1&&utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=shopping_us_e-art_and_collectibles-prints-digital_prints&utm_custom1=k_Cj0KCQjw-GxBhC1ARIsADGgDjv059ypeUSr8k-AycRClqElo2z8D7vPBijTo2s7wjUsPqVoX0VZgf4aAiF7EALw_wcB_k_&utm_content=go_12573072910_122305157649_507558206398_pla-328046931108_m__1198103643_555231655&utm_custom2=12573072910&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADtcfRJaonOT7o-vEQyYH41c2e5Bx&gclid=Cj0KCQjw_-GxBhC1ARIsADGgDjv059ypeUSr8k-AycRClqElo2z8D7vPBijTo2s7wjUsPqVoX0VZgf4aAiF7EALw_wcB
I like the hot air balloon idea if she would enjoy that.
Side note: I understand why deaf people are less likely to dance, or want a party with dancing, but I do have a deaf person in my folk dancing performance group. You travel a lot, does she enjoy traditional performances from the countries you go to? Invite a local folk dancing group to perform dances from countries she enjoyed.
The hot air balloon ride (just the two of you) sounds brilliant, if she’d enjoy it of course. These days my mind tends to jump to enjoying wine at special occasions, so cracking a special bottle might be fun to do together, again, if that’s something she enjoys.
We went to Las Vegas for my sister’s and my 80th.. It was planned by my niece. We had 20 or so family members. It was really fun.
She was born two weeks before my first birthday, so we are twins for two weeks every year.
@KNOWITALL: That would require a lot of cocaine, if I remember the 70’s correctly.
