At what age did you stop looking for cash in birthday cards?
And actually read the card?

I stopped getting cashh when I was a teenager. But I got a check up until I was 55.
I never expected cash in birthday or Christmas cards.
I still tend to get money in birthday cards.
I’m in my 50s and family will occasionally send me a check in a birthday card, so my answer is I still will look. I will always read the card and appreciate it, regardless.
My Bar Mitzva (age 13) was the last cash-based gift event.
I’ve ALWAYS read my cards & I STILL look for the cash!!! My Mom’s BFF took me out to lunch for my birthday. We both had been busy over Christmas & didn’t get to go. When I opened my card, a $100 bill fluttered out & under the table where we were sitting. Since then, I open cards carefully, verify no cash & then read the card. Or I take the cash out, say thank you, & read the card.
