Antidisestablishmentarianism was always a favourite when I was at school.
19th century word meaning not in favour of disestablishing the Church of England. (I think)
Some fun words I’ve learned in the wine world:
Calcareous (“cal-care-ē-us”) – means soil with a lot of limestone rock.
Sapidity – A savory, almost salty character found in some wines, especially those close to the sea.
Perlage – The fineness of the bubbles in a sparkling wine
Oenology – Study of wine
Organoleptic – Of or relating to the senses. In wine there’s the organoleptic characteristics i.e. the color, scent, and flavors of the wine as well as the texture.
I came across this unexciting word in my reading yesterday. It means writing left to right and right to left alternately.
