Are we brushing our teeth wrong?

Asked by RedDeerGuy1 (24959points) July 3rd, 2024

I just looked up the “Bass Method”, in YouTube,
and it’s totally different than I was doing.

Can someone please provide a link from YouTube or other site?

The don’t mean to use a fish.

I’m being told to lightly brush at the gum line, preferably using a “sonic” style electric toothbrush. And to use a water pick, and to floss.

For the past two years I’ve seen the same dental hygienist every six months. She gives me a wonderful narration about how to properly brush and floss, and the consequences of skipping it.

Poor dental hygiene can cause heart problems. Really! Weird but true.

Thanks!
I’ve been using an Oral-B and Sonicare toothbrushes plus a water-pick plus flossing two to three times a day.

I get my teeth cleaned 4 times a year. Nevertheless at each teeth cleaning the dental hygienist has to scrape the plaque buildup off my teeth. And she keeps advising my the proper way to floss. And I floss the way she tells me to no avail. So frustrating.

I’ll try brushing with the Bass method. Can’t hurt. Hope it helps.
