Everybody I’ve spoken with has a different story, so how were you affected?

It had no noticeable effect on me personally but a nearby airport had lots of flights cancelled and disruption is expected to continue over the weekend.

Not affected at all; I think it was businesses which were affected from what I’ve read.

I had an issue with my DISH bill not going through and tried to go to their website but it was not working at that time.
My brother was trying to check into a hotel this morning and was told their computer system was down to come back in a few hours. They went to hang out at the beach and didn’t really mind.
This was due to the glitch per the hotel.

Work was a total shit show this morning.

Several court websites were down but it was just mildly annoying.

Like @chyna I had a terrible time getting my bills paid & I had several that were due today. My bank was a total shit show most of the day. I’ve been reading that many home computers were getting the blue screen of death. Thank God, I skipped that part!!!

I drove to Milwaukee and didn’t encounter one problem.

No problem for me. I’m retired and was staying home today.

I did see on the news, NYC news, big mess at JFK and other area airports. That seemed to be the biggest disruption.

I have not noticed anything.
Did something happen?

Nothing.

No effect in my small sphere.

I’ve been waiting a long while, though, to see some sort of sharp reminder that we’re too dependent on electronic devices large and small and that we should not lose our ability to revert to low tech on short notice. This might not be enough of a jolt, but it ought to be.

jca2's avatar

@Jeruba good point. It’s amazing how a glitch from one company can have such a devastating impact on the world.

@ragingloli Not in Loliland…The rest of the world was interesting!!!

Nothing, no problems with me.

Not at all. Zero

No effect for me whatsoever. I work from home and I was momentarily concerned that it might have somehow affected my computer, but it did not. I don’t have a lot to do on Friday but I do have to send out a bi-weekly eblast to everybody, and I was worried I wouldn’t be able to do that.

It was not disastrous at our hospital. The pneumatic tube delivery system in our hospital was down for days, so we walked paperwork & specimens about. Lots of PCs had to be rebooted. Patient care was little effected. A hiccup, not a disaster.

Welp, I’m flying for business today and the SNAFU is real.
