Is Trump laying a trap?

Asked by filmfann (52399points) 1 month ago

During his convention speech, Trump mostly spoke softly (mostly).
This is the first time I have heard him speak since the assassination attempt. What’s up?
Is he trying to change his image?
Is he trying to seem less brash, to draw in Biden?

I believe so. I think that’s why he chose Vance. He’s going to let Vance be the tough bad guy.

I heard he is trying to change his image but the news points out the hypocrisy of having Hulk Hogan there, talking tough. I didn’t see the majority of it so I can’t speak personally about what was going on.

Maybe. I think when he was reading from the teleprompter he spoke more slowly and a little softer. If they slow the teleprompter he is kind of forced to slow down. I only saw 20 minutes of the speech.

They probably want to try to change his image a little when he is being covered nationally. Some of the more local speeches he still gets his crazy on I would think.

I don’t think that Trump needs to set a trap for Biden. Biden is already mortally wounded.

Trapping? Traumatized. Sociopathic douchebags are not immune to trauma due to almost getting their heads blown off. Probably in his mind the question “Is it all worth it?” keeps playing like a broken record.

^It doesn’t matter how Trump feels now. He’s on a one way track. If he isn’t elected, he will be forced to eventually face the trials he has been able to drag out.
He’s “all in.”

Either everyone else folds, or he’ll have to show his bluff. He has absolutely nothing, but the powers the SCOTUS will keep giving him, IF he can become king.

There is no alternative. Unless he’d rather go to prison, than be assassinated maybe.
But. He’s caused SO much hate and hurt, he may never be safe from future attempts on his life.

If he wasn’t safe, surrounded by his own cult followers, where is he safe?

It’s a trap to get the “undecided” votes. You know it’s getting bad when one of the cult tries to take you down. Supposedly he wrote his own speech this time.

Huh. Maybe he is doing what he said he would do…tone down the rhetoric.
