Best the never-ending story. Worst Legend.

I don’t know if it’s the best but I’ve always liked Dragonslayer. Clash of the Titans is another good one. Both are early 80s movies.

They’re all so awesome in their own, horrible way. The Conan films, Krull, Neverending Story, Legend, and so many other great films. I’m sure the worst would probably be one of those really low budget knockoffs like Beastmaster or Red Sonja, but I haven’t studied them enough to really know for sure.

I liked Willow a lot. Campy and fun but still entertaining.

^^Madmartigan! Sorsha! ( they actually got married )

One of several films its music theme stuck in my head.

So many are from the 80s, and I don’t remember them so well.

I used to love Jason and the Argonauts, and Clash of the Titans.

When I was about 8 I saw Hawk the Slayer and thought it was the greatest thing ever. Then watched it as an adult and found it was absolutely terrible—so maybe that’s the worst one.

^^Glad I was young enough to have my mind blown away by the great cinematic fantasy the original Clash showcased on the big screen.

From beginning to end it was one great fantastic image and action after another. Truly transportive.

The best that comes to mind:
The Lord of The Rings trilogy (2001–2003)

Also very good:
Conan the Barbarian (1982)
Dragonslayer (1981)
Excalibur (1981)
Stardust
The Dark Crystal (1982)
Willow (1988)
The 7th Voyage of Sinbad (1958)
The Golden Voyage of Sinbad (1973)
Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger (1977)
The Thief of Bagdad (1940)

Ones I think are particularly awful:
Beastmaster 2
Highlander 2+
In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale

Krull is also awful, but it’s possible to not hate or even like (or for some others, even love) it, in a campy way.
