What's the most bizarre object that would baffle future alien archeologists (Possibly NSFW)?

Asked by gorillapaws (30748points) 1 month ago

Let’s say humanity is snuffed out in the near future ether by a war or virus or calamity, and a race of intelligent aliens were to happen upon our planet many millennia from now. They start to excavate the remains of our civilization to understand what our species was all about.

What’s an object from our culture that they might find and be totally bewildered as to its function or purpose? I’ll put forth Truck Nuts as my contribution. I can just picture a future archeologist working on their doctorate wondering “But what are they FOR?” I’m curious what objects you guys come up with.

Humor encouraged.

Truck nuts are a good start. I bet they’d figure it out. All it would take is to find a pair attached to a truck. I’m going with fidget spinners. They look like they should have a practical, mechanical purpose, but they don’t.

Huh. It would have to be something that lasted all those years. I’m going to go with the garden gnome or possibly a lawn jockey
