If Trump figures out how to dump Vance, who would replace JD?

Asked by elbanditoroso (33413points) 1 month ago

Who could Trump find non-threatening, but still have half a brain and help the ticket?

Who would accept the job, knowing that he was a second, or third choice?

Why the Vance questions? Are there noises about him dumping him?

elbanditoroso's avatar

Yes, @Caravanfan – check out MSNBC

JD is on a short list . . . .It might happen before the Dems have their convention, his approval rating in his region is 30%.

Duh Trump picked another. LOSER ! ! !

Maybe Trump is vetting Benjamin “Bibi” Netanyahu at his Mar-A-Lago or asking for money !

@elbanditoroso Oh. MSNBC is filled with clickbait like CNN and Fox. They’ll write any headline that will get a click for their advertisers. But the answer to your question is yes, he can replace him.

Oh oh, I know he should pick MTG, she would make him look smart at least.

@Caravanfan My knowledge of Vance the past few days has been from memes on Facebook. Apparently Vance insulted childless women and called them cat ladies, and he pleasured himself when he was young by using a plastic glove between the couch cushions. He’s become an embarrassment.

Nikki Haley would be the wise choice but Trump would never allow it.

Caravanfan's avatar

@jonsblond Oh, Vance is a pig, I hate the guy almost as much as I hate Trump and I thought it was a horrible pick.

^He’s also being roasted by Appalachian’s saying he’s not one of them. I giggled at the claim he cleans his cast iron with soap.

Tim Scott is still sitting by his phone…just in case. Vance also went through the phase where he thought he was gay. Still he’s attacking women. Maybe he is. djtj insisted on his dad picking Vance. I wouldn’t want to be in his shoes right now!!! Dad kicked him out of the compound once before & it may be happening again.

Vance might be replaced with another phony cheap politician, Haley.

I asked a Q about Vance being replaced also, but I doubt he will be replaced.

My guess is Nikki Haley or Tim Scott to try to attract minority voters and people who would feel good about voting for a minority.

The thing is, the white supremacist part of the party won’t like it. They don’t like that Trump’s daughter is Jewish either, so maybe it doesn’t matter for that very extreme subgroup in the Trump supporters. Most Republicans consider themselves not racist and so the minority aspect might be ok with them, in fact I think they would like to be able to vote for a minority.

The billionaire Christian Nationalists who try to control politicians likely will not tolerate a minority VP, and they have huge influence. Everyone knows Trump is getting up there in years, the VP could wind up president. It’s easier to do the calculation when the VP is solely about helping the presidential candidate win.

@Caravanfan Colbert did a skit about it the other night. It was called “Hillbilly Eulogy.” All in good fun, of course.

@LadyMarissa I hope he wouldn’t choose Tim Scott. He’s a total ass kisser.

I mean, I have no reason to think the Orangutan will not double down on the extremism of his and Vance, so I see no reason why he would replace him.
In fact, he wants a loyalist extremist in the position.
Last time he had a VP that, while being a right wing shitbag, still had some measure of integrity, his demand that the VP throw out certain states’ electors in favour of a slate of fake electors, the VP refused because it would have been illegal.
He wants a loyalist that will obey his command in 2028.
As the Orangutan recently promised his supporters: If you vote for him now and he wins, they will not have to vote ever again.

Any intelligent person that Trump chooses…. will by default be an evil person.
Only an evil person or stupid person would support Trump’s election lies. There are no exceptions to this.
JD Vance is obviously intelligent. Therefore, we know he’s evil. Because an ethical intelligent person would never support Trump and his election lies.

Caravanfan's avatar

@ragingloli Yes, he is now saying the quiet part out loud. Although I do not think he would succeed at becoming dictator. Nevertheless that’s his goal.

I wonder what Pence would have done if there had been no violence, no raid on the Capitol, and just pressure to not sign the documents. He says he had checked with advisors beforehand and decided he had to sign to be compliant with the law, but I bet having his life threatened by lunatics out in the open possibly helped him to not play the bullshit game of stalling the certification.

@jonsblond What is wrong with cleaning cast iron with soap?

ragingloli's avatar

You are supposed to “season” a cast iron pan, meaning you coat it with cooking oil, then pop it in the oven to have the oil burn in. This is supposed to give the pan a non-stick property.
Washing it with soap runs the risk of removing that layer.

Blackwater_Park's avatar

@ragingloli Not true, those are widely held myths though. There was a time when soap had lye and that did remove the seasoning layer but not anymore. The “seasoning” layer is not a nonstick coating either. It’s just rust protection. Non-stick comes from knowing how to cook with cast iron. I collect and have restored over 300 pieces. I cook in mine every day and use soap all the time. Kinda mandatory at times if you don’t want your morning eggs to taste like the fish you had the night before.

jonsblond's avatar

^@ragingloli is correct. It’s very easy to clean your skillet with coarse salt and a rag. No soap is needed.

Blackwater_Park's avatar

@jonsblond But soap won’t hurt your cast iron. That’s a myth.

Blackwater_Park's avatar

@Tropical_Willie Those scrubbers work great on new rough cast iron. Never needed them on the smooth-finished vintage pans.

jonsblond's avatar

^I researched and see that that thought process has changed. I’m not afraid to admit if I’m wrong. We still avoid soap and are happy with our results. :)

JLeslie's avatar

I always use soap, because I’m a bit of a germaphobe, and in FL there is such a thing as ants being attracted to grease, so I just don’t risk it and I use soap. There might be no actual risk at all, I don’t know, but anyway I use soap.

Blackwater_Park's avatar

@jonsblond I don’t use soap much but at times it’s better to use it. 80% of the time a rinse in water and a wipe with a rag is all that’s needed. Especially if you cook with it every day. If you put it up for a long time it’s best to use soap to get any cooking oil out. It’ll turn rancid and sticky if you don’t. One good thing about the soap myth is that it’s so prevalent that most people here in the south never cleaned the crud off their pans and it would build up over a hundred years or so. When stripped away with lye, it usually reveals a pristine, perfectly preserved pan.
