Do you save your old computer chargers?

Do you save computer chargers for computers you no longer have?

I have a few and am wondering if it’s good to save them or just throw them away.

I save them, not only computer chargers but wall chargers in general. I end up finding uses for most of them. Appliances these days often want you to buy the charger separately. I usually have to splice different tips in but I usually have the right one.

Usually chargers are specific to a brand. You would have to purchase the same brand in the future. I suggest you throw them away. Even in the same brand, they change over time. But if you have the space, it’s ok to keep them.

I have some. Recently, my sister said she needed an old Ipad charger if we can’t get our old ipad to work. If you have old charges someone might need one of them instead of throwing it out.

Not deliberately, but when tucked away in a drawer or box they seem to breed and threaten to overtake my world.

Yes I do. For no practical reason just for nostalgia. I’m an Apple
fan so I’m keeping all three laptops I bought since the early 2000s.

No, I keep charges with the devices. So when I donate or eWaste the device, the charger goes with it.

It can be dangerous to use a charger on a piece of equipment that did not come with the charger, as voltages and capacities can differ.

I use a silver Sharpie to label all of my charger blocks. They are all the same color, but have different voltages.
