Is the alcohol from body fat intoxicating?

Asked by RedDeerGuy1 (24801points) 1 month ago

Or is it a different type of alcohol?

Humorous, and serious answers welcome.

I’m having a vison of people getting drunk at the gym.

Alcohol is converted into body fat, but not the reverse. Going Keto (look it up) can make the body use fat, but it only gives you flu-type symptoms, not drunkness.

My ex was a chronic alcoholic. Even when completely out of booze, he wouldn’t snuggle up to a fat person, so I’m going to guess NO!!!

I have a friend who weighs over 350 pounds & I’ve NEVER even gotten a buzz when around her. I think that @YARNLADY is correct.

There is no alcohol in body fat.

@all My high school chemistry teacher said that human fat molecules contain an alcohol. Im not sure what type of alcohol? Hence why I asked this question.

Triglycerides have an alcohol (Glycerol) molecule in the center of it, with three fatty acids attached.

^^ I found the same thing.

“Human fat molecules, such as triglycerides, contain glycerol, which is an organic alcohol with three carbons and three hydroxyl (OH) groups.”

In other words, it’s organic. And no, you won’t get drunk when losing weight or working out.

Fermented body fat sounds simply gross to me.

The is a rare chronic condition where food ferments in your gut and you get drunk either sporadically or continually forget the name. Even children can get it.
