In your opinion, is any breed of dog particularly nurturant?

I’m seeing adorable videos of little poodle type dogs caring for toddlers but also Goldens too. As you may know, my Frodo was a biter and a terrier mix. I know terriers can be toughies. Just wondering if there are any signs.

Goldens, Cavs, the super soft sweet ones. After my current Aussie leaves this plane, I’d love to rescue a cav.
Yes, I love both those breeds. A Golden would be too big for me but a cav is lovely. My cousin had one.
My German shepherd, Dakota was always prepared to protect us and especially the little kids. She wasn’t snuggly though. Too undignified for her.
German Shepherds are great with kids, although you’re right. I’m not sure how snuggly they are.
My therapist had a therapy dog who was a Golden Retriever. Charlie, or when I was feeling that he was dignified, Charles; sometimes he was Chuck. He’d sit on the comfy loveseat with her clients and nuzzle us at times.
My dog is staring at me with hearts coming out his dark eyes.
If you want a cuddle bug, it’s hard to beat a shih tzu. They’re bred to be companion dogs.
^^ I had a Lhasa Apso and boy was he devoted to me! Both them and Shih Tzus usually attach to just one person. The top dog in your pic looks like my KoKo Blue. <3 Are those your dogs?
All the shih tzu pups I have known have their person, but also gleefully inhabit any available laps as well.
We had a Lab mix that was super tolerant towards kids. Our current dog, a Labradoodle, not so much.
@smudges not mine. Sadly we lost our beloved shih tzu – Yorkie mutt last year.
@Blackwater_Park Awww…I’m sorry. I’ve lost a number of cats and dogs and it never gets easy.
