Can I qualify to participate as an athlete for the paralympics?

I am diagnosed with schizophrenia?
I am 47 years old.

I think you have to have an athletic skill as well as a disability.

Athletes with intellectual disabilities can qualify for the Paralympics. To be eligible, they must meet specific criteria, including:

An IQ of 75 or below.
Significant limitations in adaptive behavior, such as social, domestic, and communication skills.
Onset of the disability before the age of 18

I’m guessing you don’t meet any of those requirements.

You need no specific skills be an Olympic hopeful. Just hope.

^^ Sure you do! You have to qualify for the sport you have talent in. It’s not just “C’mon by and join! We’ll take anyone!”
