Is dental pain, just pain, or is injury occurring?

Asked by RedDeerGuy1 (24986points) August 30th, 2024

I have to take a Tylenol 45 minutes before eating, and I was wondering if my teeth are being damaged while eating?

Or is it just pain?

September 9th I get a filling, and root cannal on October 25th. Maybe a crown later.

When you experience tooth pain while eating, that’s a sign there’s something wrong. Since you’re getting work done in the near future, I hope that will take care of the pain.

It is pain there is no damage from chewing.

Just pain. Roots in teeth are viscous.

Yes. Very likely there is injury being done.

The pain is there for a reason and the reason is there’s a problem with your mouth (tooth/teeth, gums, bone, nerves). Likely a bacterial infection.

Masking the pain with drugs doesn’t solve the problem. That makes the problem worse if not followed up quickly with professional dental care. The longer you put that off the greater the injury.

Your body is telling you that something is wrong. That’s likely why you’re scheduled for a root canal.

Good health!
