I don’t think pumpkin pie counts as a vegetable since it had a lot of sugar.

As @Hawaii_Jake said watch for too much sugar.

A slice of pumpkin pie is a significant source of water-soluble B vitamins, offering 20 percent of the recommended daily intake for thiamin and vitamin B-12, 13 percent for riboflavin, 12 percent for folate, and 9 percent for niacin.

I will no longer feel guilty for eating pumpkin pie for breakfast. There’s nothing to be ashamed of. :)

FYI: pumpkins are fruit not vegetables.

It would count as a fruit and as a dessert with a ton of sugar, fat, and cholesterol.

People eat broccoli cheese casserole and count it as a vegetable, why not count the pumpkin pie. The casserole maybe has less sugar, but still a ton of fat and cholesterol.

Only (imo) if its fresh, organic pumpkin. Never used the canned/processed. Preservatives are the devil. :)

@KNOWITALL I use Libby’s Pure Canned Pumpkin – - zero preservatives !

Fruit is a also horticultural term but vegetable is only a culinary term. Something can be both a fruit and vegetable at the same time.

You’ll be fine. It’s not what you eat once in a while, it’s what you eat over a month. Just make sure you don’t eat excessive sugar or calories regularly and you’ll be fine.
