Are you doing anything fun this weekend?
The state art museum has a free concert for first Friday tonight with 2 bands performing. They sound fun. There will be an art market and food vendors. We’re going.
Do you have any fun plans for this weekend?

No plans. I had a busy week and have a busy week next week, so this weekend, I am looking forward to relaxing. My daughter is a senior in HS and she can paint her parking spot, so we’re going tomorrow evening to put the first coat on, and I am sanding a small piece of furniture so I can stain it, and so at some point this weekend, I’ll finish doing the sanding.
Going to the library – I have a couple of books that are almost due, and I need to refresh my reading list.
Possibly taking a drive to a small family-run dairy that makes the best milk shakes. About 40 miles away in the N Georgia mountains but worth the drive.
@jca2 paint her parking spot at school? What a great idea! MY grandson should suggest it to his hich school.
Trip to Jefferson’s Monticello. Should be fun!
Brunch at a couple in my congregation. Bruce and Tom are gourmet cooks.
Saturday night I’m going to the Spanish American Club where I live with friends and I talked my husband into going.
They are going to have a band I like, and it is heritage month so they stop the band for about 30 minutes and play typical music from all of the countries in Latin America (a minute each) and members who are dressed in costume parade around and when their music comes on they take the center of the floor and represent their country. Plus, sometimes the Flamenco dancers or folkloric dancers perform. It’s cute.
I bought Mexican flag earrings to represent my husband’s country.
I’m going to help my home schooled grandsons catch up on the classes they missed during their Labor day vacation and cook a special meal for my DIL.
Same thing as every weekend: vegging out.
This morning (Saturday), I spent 3 hours at my health club. That might not be everyone’s idea of fun, but I enjoyed myself immensely.
I just soaked in the bathtub for a while (heaven!). Now, I’m going to read an excellent novel, which I started a few days ago.
My town had a parade scheduled for this morning. I kinda wanted to go but kinda didn’t.
I got up about 10 and went out on the porch.
Then I heard parade drums and stuff….and it was getting closer to the house…!!!! The whole dang thing passed by on a residential street just two houses north of me! Hot cars, classic cars, every cop car this town has, ablaze with lights! Big old stockyard trucks filled with childrens! Drums and symbols! All at my fingertips!
I was waving madly at them and they were waving back!
That’s about the most excitement I can take for a day any more!
We attended the opening of a new pedestrian bridge not far from where we live. Live music, street dancing and lots of stalls and general fun on both sides of the river.
I’m going to search for Monty Python and The Holy Grail
This weekend I’m doing a couple of easy runs to do a final shake down of my equipment, fuel and hydration, for the Rochester Half Marathon next Sunday. This is my first Half M and I’m nervous.
I know I’ll be fine but I want to run it at a “good” pace.
I’ve been trying to travel more whilst I’m young. One of my goals before I hit 30.
Last weekend I paid a visit to Belfast in Northern Ireland. Met one of the kindest ladies called Paula. Beautiful country.
The weekend before that I went to explore the ancient city of Constantinople aka Istanbul. Would recommend for fellow history and architecture lovers, great people and food too.
I finished the Half Marathon (13.1 miles, 21km) yesterday with a nice, respectable time. My target time was 2:35 and I finished in just under 2:34. I am very happy with that time. My next run will be even better!
