Have you ever been in solitary confinement?
In any setting. (School, hospital, jail)
My grade school teacher put me and my desk in a small, dark, warm furnace room for a couple of months. The only thing that I could do is sleep.
I spent 16 hours in solitary In a hospital because I asked for help, from an anxiety attack.
You?

I have a daughter who was put in a straight jacket, and put into a padded cell by herself for a bit. She couldn’t handle it.
Sort of. Back in around 2014 I had a really bad infection in my leg, and to make matters worse, I had contracted MRSA (which is a particular strain of the infection that was unresponsive to normal antibiotics).
So I was in a hospital room for 6–7 days. No casual drop-ins of friends. And any medical personnel who came in had to be masked and wearing special gowns and coverings.
This wasn’t solitary confinement in a penal sense, but it was mentally…
When I was in reform school, age 15, for 8 days – no books, magazines, etc. Just me, my cot, and my toilet.
@smudges That’s a very cruel treatment for a teenager.
^^ Yes, it was. A number of years later I heard that they had outlawed it as cruel and unusual punishment.
Does after-school detention count?
I was in a rehab facility being treated with IV antibiotics when COVID hit. We were confined to our rooms and no guests until I was released 3 weeks later.
