What songs compel you to sing along when they come on the radio or streaming?

Asked by janbb (63122points) 1 week ago

Sparked by “The Weight” playing on the radio and my immediate need to chime in. Songs that are just irresistible. Others for me would be “Brown Sugar”, “Satisfaction”, and “Paint it Black” by the Stones and most of the Springsteen cannon.

Just for fun.

The song that did it for me today was Drift Away by Dobie Gray. It’s usually songs that take me back to my teenage days.

^^ I haven’t heard that in ages! Way too many to list! It’s funny, because off the top of my head I can’t remember the words to many songs, but if they come on the radio, suddenly I remember and can sing along!

“Sitting on the Dock of the Bay” is another one of my sing-alongs.

Most of the tunes in my YTube list.

@Brian1946 Reminds me of these jokes:

Upon hearing someone sing, a listener says, “I used to wish I could sing…now I wish you could.

“What did you do with all of that money??” “What money?” “The money your parents gave you for singing lessons!”

”...I sing a lot.”

Me too.
If there wasn’t a continent and an ocean between us, I’d love to try an “I Want it That Way” duet with you. :)

@Brian1946 I would love that. Maybe I can come say hi to you when I’m on my travels. I want to come back to the US sometime soon <3
