On mine, on the back there’s an on/off switch.

Mine has an on/off switch. At worst, remove the batteries.

I have a Lenovo laptopl I don;t know where the battery is. The mousepad is part of the keyboard. I don’t see any way of detaching it.

You maybe able to adjust sensitivity, MacBook Pro has that under “system settings.”

You mean the touchpad? No mouse involved? I understand a mousepad to be the separate little surface with wrist support that you move your mouse on physically. It sits next to the computer and is not part of it.

If touchpad is what you mean, I laid a piece of fairly firm cardboard over it, and so I seldom activate it by accident. The cardboard is pretty stiff, but not heavy enough to prevent closing the laptop.

Select the Search icon in the taskbar, type touchpad settings in the search box, and then press enter.

Click the Touchpad button to turn the touchpad off or on.

That worked! It is so much easier now to use my computer. Thanks!
