Which work of cinematography in a movie do you find unappealing?

Anyone who uses shaky cam or overly spinny camera movements.
I hate quick cuts.
I hate the pissfilter.

On del Toro, I found the asestheitcs of both The Shape of Water and Pinocchio off-putting.

I really liked Pacific Rim, but I did find some of the kaiju-based luminosity to be glaring.
It was like they turned the light amp up to 11.

I liked a lot of the perspective of Cloverfield, but the cinematography was too jumpy and jittery for me.

When it gets blatantly illogical, far above tires squealing on dirt.

I won’t watch anything by Quentin Tarantino. Too ghastly.

Oh, this is easy as it’s a really recent film.

Awful headache inducing quick cuts. Generally bad composition and weird framing. Probably the most overrated piece of crap film since something else done by Nolan.

Jitter Cams.
I really wanted to like the first Hunger Games movie, but the constant shaking of the visuals (even when no action was shown) was distracting.

Zooming, panning and moving to the right or left at the same time.

Instant motion sickness !

There are times when shaky cams can work (Saving Private Ryan comes to mind as an effective use of the technique), but I think it’s used way too often, especially in situations where it makes no sense.

Just to offer (even though it wasn’t requested) a thing I love in cinematography, a good long shot is just co captivating. This is one of my favorites though there are some breaks, it still has that long shot feel.

Quick cuts constantly happening. I hate it as much as the jittery camera thing. Also when they get basic science so wrong that you completely lose immersion in the film.

Alien vs predator requiem was so dark you couldnt see anything for most of the film

^^True. Use of dark cinematography and quick cam movement turned from art style to annoying distractions.

I cannot deal with the camera going round and round and round a person or object. I get vertigo if I don’t look away fast enough.

@gorillapaws I was forced to sit in the front row of Saving Private Ryan and was sea-sick by the time they hit the beach. Also, I dislike fade to white—hard on the eyes.
