Has anyone seen The Zone of Interest?

I keep thinking about seeing it but I’m never in the right mood.

Never heard of it. Will Google.

I can’t watch those movies. They stress me out and stay with me forever.

Read the book. Have not seen the movie. Not on my list to see either.

@smudges is it very painful to see? As I said, I’ve been avoiding it but I know it is a good movie.

They didn’t show inside of the walls of the camp. You saw no prisoners. I read that it was similar to seeing two movies – you saw the visual, which was Hoss’s family life and it was quite mundane. They made it like that on purpose to emphasize the difference between their lives and what was going on inside the camp. The other aspect of the movie was the sound. You could hear gunshots, screams, and yelling, but it was very much in the background. It’s in german with english subtitles and because of that I want to watch it again because it was hard to read while watching the action. It felt like there were cameras recording their actual lives rather than actors.To be honest, I thought it was phenomenal given the subject matter. I’ve thought of it off and on all day today.
